A tasty way to be eco-friendly

When you just feel like good coffee and some quality food, I can recommend SOURCE Foods in Highgate. This little unsuspecting cafe, hiding on the corner of Beaufort and Brisbane St, serves not only awesome food but also food that is SUSTAINABLE .

But what does sustainable mean when it refers to food?

Well, I can tell you that it does not AT ALL mean rabbit food and birdseeds!

Sustainable food just means:

  • That suppliers of produce are selected for their environmental and ecological awareness.
  • That the coffee is FAIR trade and organic, as is the Australian-grown, tea and their tea is naturopath-formulated.
  • That you can sink your teeth into wholesome meals: free range eggs and bacon for breakfast or beef or lamb (70% organic) burgers for lunch.

SOURCE Foods: 4/289 Beaufort St, Highgate Tues-Fri: 7.30am-4pm / Sat & Sun: 8.30am-4pm

For the vegetarians and gluten-intolerant roaming the streets of Perth, try the range of salads, soups, rolls, arancini balls and so much more!

So let your mind rest – you are doing your bit for the environment (and local economy) when you eat at SOURCE.

My experience:

Lunch at SOURCE was excellent. I had the Lamb Burger, with a light chili sauce, coffee and a home-made croissant. Heaven. Best thing was that – you know how everything ‘organic’ costs twice as much at the shops? well not here. The average lunch meal was around $13.
